Hi everyone! I live and work in a somewhat remote area where my only internet option is through a nanoSIM with unlimited data. My plan supports 4G with speeds up to 60 Mbps for downloads and 40 Mbps for uploads, but I'm struggling with really weak signal strength — my router shows just 2 out of 4 bars. The nearest cell tower is quite far away, and unfortunately, my router doesn't have an adjustable antenna. Most of the time, my internet speed is painfully slow, averaging around 2 Mbps, and it fluctuates a lot. I'm considering getting a better router, maybe one with adjustable antennas like the TPLink model. Does anyone have suggestions for affordable devices or solutions that might help? Also, I can't use anything outside my house to improve the signal.

Just to clarify, are you using a 4G router? If so, have you tried positioning it where the signal seems strongest? Sometimes just a little change in location can make a difference!
Have you tried moving your router around a bit? Sometimes the materials in your house can block signals. Also, just curious, what’s your house made of? That could be affecting your reception, too.
I did try repositioning it, but I'm not sure what the walls are made from.
When you say you can't use anything outside, do you mean literally no modifications? Some people can slip an antenna out a window or something similar. If that’s an option, a good cellular signal booster might help. Weboost is pretty effective but can be pricey. Otherwise, I recommend getting a better router, particularly one that allows you to attach a larger antenna for better reception. Thanks for the tips! I’ll check out that subreddit and look for a better router. And yes, I mean literally nothing can go outside.

Yes, it’s definitely a 4G router. I've tried moving it around to see if that helps.
