Hey everyone! I built a PC back in January and it's been working great, but I also use it as a server and it sounds like a jet engine when it's running, making it impossible to sleep! I've been trying to figure out how to quiet it down. Here's what I've done so far:
- I adjusted the BIOS fan curves (CPU and case fans) to the silent preset, but they're still noisy.
- Tried creating my own fan curve, but it didn't make much difference.
- I ran the PC with no load, temperatures are fine, but the noise persists.
- I experimented with some fans directly connected, bypassing the fan hub, but it didn't help.
I have a hunch that there's a setting I'm missing that might be causing the fans to run at full speed. Any advice would be super helpful! Let me know if you need more details. Thanks!

First, identify which fans are making the most noise—whether it's the GPU, CPU, or the case fans. That could help narrow down the fix.
Make sure your fans are plugged into the right ports. The fan hub should connect to a 4-pin PWM connector, not a 3-pin one. Also, check if the fans are responding when you try to change the speed settings.
That's a good point! I'll look into that when I get home.
Check out this software: [getfancontrol.com](https://getfancontrol.com/). It could help you manage fan speeds more effectively!
Thanks! I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works out.
You might want to manually adjust the fan curve in the BIOS and see if it makes a difference in noise level. The preset curves aren't always great, and tweaking them yourself might help reduce the noise.
I know those presets aren't the best, but when I tried making my own curve, it felt just as loud. I'm starting to think they're stuck at full power.
I think it's the case fans; I remember running it with only two of them before adding the hub, and it wasn't this loud.
