I'm having trouble playing an audio file that I downloaded from Dropbox onto my iPad. I transferred it from my laptop to my iPad via USB and tried using the built-in music player, but nothing seemed to work. I recently downloaded VLC, which finally let me play the file, but my experience was incredibly frustrating. It took me three hours and a few app downloads to find a solution! I'm using an iPad 8 with iOS 17.6.1. Any tips or simpler methods to play audio files like this?

VLC is amazing for this! It's really powerful for playing different media types. Once you have it in VLC, managing your files will be much simpler!
To manage audio files effectively, you’ll want to download them directly to the Files app on your iPad. It makes accessing them much easier!
HOW do I do that? I'm struggling with this part!
What type of audio file are we dealing with? If it's compatible, VLC can definitely help you out. It’s free and supports virtually all formats. If you're using VLC, you can organize your files much easier, so keep at it!
I just got it working too! How do I add it to the VLC library though? This “kind” info says it’s a Windows media audio type, is that a problem?
Great to know! But do you have any tips on getting files into the VLC library without hunting for them in the file system?
