I found two hard drives from my old Acer PC from 2006 and I want to keep them. Can anyone tell me what I need to read the data on these drives? I'm hoping to find something on Temu since my local stores don't have much to offer.

You’ll need external readers designed for either IDE or SATA drives. IDE drives have a long row of pins needing a connector, while SATA drives have an L-shaped connector. Just connect the reader to the hard drive, power it up, and then connect it to your computer via USB.

Look for a USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE adapter online, especially on Temu. If you know whether your drives are IDE or SATA, you can get a specific adapter for that type, which could save you some money. Just a heads up: IDE drives are thicker and have pins, while SATA drives connect with a plug and a red cable.

Thanks - it looks like they are two different types so a multi adapter will probably be the way to go. Did you see the pic on my link that shows their port ends?
