How Can I Remove All My Photos from Google Photos Without Deleting Them from My Phone?

I've accidentally backed up all my photos to Google Photos, and now I'm facing a frustrating issue: when I delete a photo from my phone, it disappears from Google Photos too. I want to remove them from Google Photos without affecting the ones on my phone. I've tried disabling the app and cleaning them from my PC, but I still need help figuring out how to turn off this backup function, so I can select what to upload manually. For context, I don't need random photos taking up my storage space!

In the Google Photos app, tap your profile picture, head to Google Photos Settings, and then click on Backup. You can turn it off from there. Once you've done this, you can select the photos you actually want to back up without them getting removed from your phone.

To fix this, open the Google Photos app on your phone, go to Settings, and turn off the backup option. This should stop it from deleting your photos when you remove them from your phone.

I did that already, but I'm still having issues. When I delete something from my phone's Photos app, it’s also gone from storage. I really want to stop this from happening. Any ideas?
