I just inherited an iPhone 12 from my grandpa to upgrade from my iPhone SE, but the issue is that the phone is still set up with all his information. Every method I try to erase the device requires Face ID, which I can't set up since I don't want to drive four hours just for that. I'm considering visiting an Apple Store for help, but I'm not sure if they can reset it without the Face ID. Does anyone know of any tricks to reset an iPhone without needing Face ID?

If you have the passcode and the Apple ID credentials, you might be able to use the Find My app to perform a remote wipe. Your grandpa could do it for you if he still has the app on one of his devices. Just keep in mind that Apple's support will usually require proof of purchase for assistance, so that's something to consider if you decide to go in person.
Yeah, definitely try the remote wipe! It's an easy way to reset things without needing that Face ID stuff. Just make sure you have all the passwords handy when you attempt that.
