How Do I Build a Gaming PC on a Budget?

I'm a high school student who has just begun saving up for a gaming PC, but I'm feeling a bit lost on where to start. I want to build something that can handle gaming and is suitable for my future in computer science, but I'm not very familiar with the different parts and their functions. I'm looking for advice on which components to prioritize for quality and performance while keeping costs low. Additionally, it would be great to find options that I can upgrade later as my budget grows. Any tips or recommendations would be much appreciated, even if they're simple!

Honestly, this isn't the best time to build a PC due to the high prices of parts right now. If you're not looking to spend over $1,000, I suggest considering a good quality used pre-built system. It can save you a lot of cash compared to piecing together new components.
