I'm not very tech-savvy, but I need help connecting my MacBook Air (2020) to a new Samsung 32" Odyssey G51C QHD monitor. I bought a Belkin 8-in-1 dual display hub, but I'm stuck with this DisplayPort (DP) cord that I have no clue how to use. One end is plugged into the monitor, but the other doesn't fit in my Mac or the Belkin hub. I've also downloaded DisplayLink, but it doesn't recognize the accessory, and I'm not getting a prompt to allow the device. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

DisplayPort cables are typically used for PCs. Macs usually use HDMI, Thunderbolt, or USB-C with Thunderbolt. It's best to put that DisplayPort cable aside and use an HDMI cable instead. Just connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI 2.0 port on your Belkin hub and it should work fine. Avoid using the DisplayLink port.

Thanks for the tip! I've disconnected the DP and switched to HDMI, but now my monitor only shows part of my Home Screen. I can see the background, but everything is still controlled by my laptop. Any ideas on how to fix that?
