How Do I Pack My PC for International Shipping Without Original Packaging?

I'm getting ready to ship my gaming PC internationally for work and I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've read everywhere that it's best to use the original packaging to package a PC securely, but I didn't keep mine—now I'm regretting that decision! I'm a little wary about shipping companies like UPS and FedEx handling my build, and I don't want to take my entire setup on the plane. I do plan on bringing my GPU in my carry-on, though. For reference, my PC tower measures 17.91" x 7.87" x 18.31", and it has an RTX 4070 SUPER GPU, an Intel Core i9 (14th Gen CPU with AIO cooling), and 64GB of DDR5 RAM. Any tips on how to safely ship this without the original box?

One of the safest ways to ship your PC is by disassembling it and sending it in parts. You could buy a new case once you arrive at your destination to save on shipping weight and space.

Since you're shipping internationally, I'd recommend removing the GPU and RAM sticks to bring on the flight with you, along with the SSD. Make sure to pack your mobo and CPU in ESD bags with bubble wrap. If you have a tempered glass case, think about swapping it out to avoid breaking it during the trip.

Just pack lots of bubble wrap both inside and outside the case before shipping! It's a classic but effective method to ensure extra protection.

This might sound a little out there, but I'd suggest buying a new case (even a cheap one from Amazon) and transferring your PC into that for shipping. It would cost around $80 but offers a solid way to protect everything. If you're looking for another reliable option, consider using expanding foam packing, like Instapak Foam, to cushion your parts inside the case.

If you're worried about your liquid cooling setup, it might be best to take it apart. Bring the GPU, SSDs, and RAM with you, and wrap the motherboard and CPU carefully in bubble wrap or foam. When you get to your new place, just set it up in a new case. For shipping, ensure things like the PSU and CPU cooler are securely packed to avoid any damage.
