Hey everyone! I'm dealing with some corrupt system files on my computer, which have been causing it to randomly not boot and even showing a blue screen during restart. I think the best fix is to reinstall Windows. From what I gather, I just need to grab a flash drive, download a tool from Microsoft's site to turn it into a bootable Windows installer, and then plug it into my PC to install. Is there anything I've overlooked or missed in this process?

Before you go through the reinstall, if you can access Windows or Safe Mode, check for dump files in C:WindowsMinidump. These logs will help in analyzing the blue screen errors. If you find any, zip them up and upload to a file sharing site. Just be cautious using file hosts that Reddit might blacklist.
The process is actually simpler than it seems! Just Google "media creation tool" with your Windows version, like "windows 11 media creation tool". Make sure your USB is the right size and download the correct version. I usually opt to create a USB drive, but you can reinstall directly from Windows if you prefer. The media creation tool's page has detailed step-by-step instructions. After you download it, just plug in your USB and you're good to go!
Just a heads-up: avoid installing KB5063060 as it can cause issues with your system!
You can disable automatic updates to avoid it.
If you just type in ?win in the search, a guide will pop up for you!
