Hey everyone! So, my workplace generously donated me an HP computer about a year ago, but I haven't really used it until now since my laptop just died on me. The tricky part is that when I turn on the computer, I hit the Windows domain login screen, and I've tried using my work credentials, but they don't work. I think this might be because my company recently rebranded, and the domain shows the old company name.
I've also tried logging in with a local username, but that didn't work either. Is there a way to get this PC off the old work domain so I can use it personally? Any help would be appreciated!

Honestly, wiping and reloading is the simplest method. If you don’t care about anything on it, that should clear everything up!
I’d recommend reaching out to your IT department first! They should ideally help you remove it from the domain or wipe it for you. There might be some security protocols they need to follow, but it should be manageable if you explain the situation. Plus, it avoids any potential data recovery hassle later on!
If you don't need anything on it, the easiest solution is to just reinstall the operating system. That'll wipe everything and remove it from the domain. You'll just need a Windows install flash drive for that. If that sounds good to you, I can help with finding a tutorial!
Is creating the install flash drive the way to go? I think I can handle that once I get my hands on a flash drive!
Thanks! I don't need any data on it. Just going to look up how to reinstall the OS. Appreciate the advice!
Thanks for that! I'll try to find someone I trust in IT to help with this.
