How Do I Remove This Plastic Peg When Swapping Drives in My PC?

I'm in the process of switching my wife's drives from her Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5 to my old PC. Swapping out the HDD was a breeze, but I'm stuck on the M.2 drive. There's a plastic peg where the security screw should go, and it just seems to twist back into place instead of coming out. It looks like it might need to be pulled straight up, but I'm not sure how to go about it without breaking anything. Anyone know the proper way to remove it?

Those little pegs are common in M.2 setups. They can be a bit tricky to remove sometimes. If it's really stuck, check if there's any way to see the bottom side. Sometimes they look like wall anchors, so popping it up could be easier from that side if you can access it.

The plastic peg you're dealing with is meant to hold the M.2 drive securely in place. Usually, you'd turn it 90 degrees to unlock it, and then the drive should come free. It can be a bit stubborn at times, so be gentle but firm when twisting it.

Yeah, I encountered the same thing! Just keep applying steady pressure while twisting, and it should eventually give. Don't rush it!

I found a resource from Lenovo that might help! It explains how to handle these pegs. You can check it out [here](https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/pubs/v520/en/contents/crus13.html). Let me know if that does the trick!

Thanks, I'll give that a try! I did manage to pull on just the top but it didn't budge, so I'm hopeful this guide will clarify things.
