How do I sign an XML file for a police check request in Poland?

Hey everyone, I'm not very tech-savvy and I'm using a Mac. I need to sign an XML file to request a police check online through the Polish government, but I'm completely lost. The website only tells me to download a zip file, extract the XML, and sign it using software from my provider—it's supposed to be an external signature. After that, I need to send the signed file, and their system will let me know if the signature is correct. They also mentioned not changing the name of the signed file. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this done? I'm really struggling and feeling frustrated with the lack of resources for a newbie like me.

It sounds like you might have better luck finding help in a Polish subreddit, as signing documents there can have its own set of rules and tools. Different countries in Europe usually have their own digital signature systems, so local insight would be valuable. Just a heads-up, if you need a digital ID for signing, that's something to consider too. Good luck!

I’ve seen a lot of info on signing XML documents online, but most of it does require some coding knowledge. I know it can feel overwhelming—have you checked that subreddit mentioned in the comments or looked for local forums?
