Hey everyone, I need some help with my laptop. My friend took a look at it and discovered that the plastic piece that holds the charger in place has shattered into three pieces. I'm curious if this means my laptop is toast or if there might still be a chance for a repair. Any insights on the potential costs or repair options would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if you can, share a picture of the port! That way we can better understand the damage. From what you've described, it sounds like there's still some hope, especially if the port is still providing power when you hold it together. Just might need a bit of a fix!
I mean, did your caps lock key break too? Just wondering if you're having a rough time with your keyboard as well!
It really depends on the model of your laptop. Most newer ones use a pigtail connection to the motherboard, which makes for an easy replacement at a reasonable price. However, some laptops might have the charging port soldered directly to the motherboard, which is a tougher repair that could cost quite a bit more. Have you checked what kind of laptop you have? That will really help in figuring out the repair route and cost.
