I successfully installed Windows 11 Home on my custom-built PC without linking a Microsoft account, thanks to the "I don't have internet" option. After entering my valid license key, everything seemed fine at first. But an hour later, I encountered the "Activate Windows" watermark. The activation screen informed me that it couldn't detect a Microsoft account linked to my device and couldn't validate my Windows license. I've tried using the phone activation method from the past, but now I'm redirected to an online portal that requires a Microsoft account to proceed. I've ended up with a frustrating language barrier since the portal turned into German when I accessed it. Is there any known workaround to activate my Windows without connecting to a Microsoft account?

What’s the deal with needing a Microsoft account for activation? If you bought a license, you should be able to use it without setting up an account. Unfortunately, it seems like Microsoft is pushing for more online integration lately. Some users suggest that logging in just for activation and then logging back out might be a quick fix. It’s not ideal, but at least it could get your system activated.
You might be in a tough spot if the online activation route insists on an account. Some folks are saying that you could try the phone activation again, but it seems like Microsoft is really clamping down on that. If you do have to bite the bullet, just remember to log out right after activating.
Yeah, it's such a drag that they want you to sign up. If logging in temporarily is the only way, I guess we gotta do what we gotta do.

I feel you on that! It's so annoying that they force you to connect. If all else fails, you might need to consider upgrading to Windows 11 Pro if that could bypass the account requirement. I’d avoid that if you can.
