How to Clone an OS with Applications to Different Hardware Using Clonezilla?

Hey everyone! I'm currently trying to clone an operating system that has various applications and configurations across different PCs in a school lab. I'm using Clonezilla successfully on identical hardware, but I hit a snag when attempting to clone to machines with different hardware setups, like different motherboards and CPUs. I turned to Sysprep to generalize the image before cloning, but I encountered the error: 'Sysprep_Clean_Validate_Opk: Audit mode cannot be turned on if reserved storage is in use...' (Error code: 0x800F0975). Now I'm at a standstill. Is there a reliable way to clone this OS along with its applications and settings to computers with different hardware? Any tools, workflows, or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Check out the Clonezilla tech support documentation; they have a lot of detailed information. Typically, when you boot a drive in a completely different machine, it should find the necessary drivers either already installed or online and boot without issues. Did the cloning process finish even with the error? Are you using an intermediate image for the cloning?

I believe the cloning process went smoothly from the source, as I successfully cloned it on two PCs with identical motherboards. However, when trying it on a PC with a different motherboard (a Gigabyte model), it just hangs on 'Preparing to boot.' The source setup is pretty standard—just Windows 11 and some educational apps, plus Deep Freeze installed for keeping things secure. Also, it has a second drive for student file storage.
