I'm trying to repurpose the hard drive from my old Macbook as an external drive, and I purchased a 2.5-inch enclosure for it. However, I'm having trouble because it won't fit due to these four pegs on the sides. I'm wondering if the enclosure might be too small, or if a different one would work better. Is there something I can do to make this fit, or is my project doomed? I've attached a picture to help clarify.

Those pegs on your hard drive could be part of a caddy or rail system. You might just need to check if they can be removed; they're probably not essential for the drive itself.
Those bumps on the hard drive are usually not part of it but extra fittings. Just remove them and see if that solves the problem.
What size screwdriver do you recommend? I ran into issues with the ones I have already.
It would help to see what you're dealing with. If those pegs are just leftovers from your old laptop's tray, you might need to remove them to get the hard drive to fit properly. Can you share a photo?
Here's a pic I took: [https://imgur.com/9W7jugl](https://imgur.com/9W7jugl).
You'll likely need to take off the four mounting pegs or screws on the hard drive's sides before it fits. That's usually the case with these enclosures.
Do you happen to know what size screwdriver I need? The ones I have for opening the Mac don’t fit.

I had the same issue once. I think those could be rubber bumpers, so definitely take a look at that.
