My PC has two SSDs, and unfortunately, the one that had the operating system has died. I've purchased a new SSD, downloaded Windows 11 onto a USB drive, and installed the new SSD in my system. If I plug in the USB, will it install Windows 11 directly onto the new SSD? I'm really concerned about it accidentally installing onto the secondary SSD that's still in the computer. Thanks for your help! Also, I think I got a 1TB SSD; does that sound right?

If your SSDs are different sizes, you can select based on that during installation, or just unplug the old SSD to avoid any mix-ups. No worries, you'll have control over the installation!
As someone who's been installing operating systems since Windows 95, I recommend creating a 200GB partition on your new SSD for Windows. This approach allows you to store your heavy software on another partition. Plus, using tools like Rescuezilla can help you back up your entire OS, making it easier to recover if you face issues in the future. Just a suggestion!
You can definitely choose where to install Windows during the installation process. Just make sure to select the new SSD, which should be empty, and you won't have to worry about it installing on your other drive. It's a pretty straightforward process!
