I Found My Passion for Programming—What’s Next?

Hey everyone! I'm 23 and I've just discovered a passion for programming after taking a course at university—even though my degree is in linguistics and not anything tech-related. I'm super excited about this new path and determined to pursue it, regardless of the challenges ahead. I know the job market can be tough, and I don't have a degree in computer science, but I've realized that programming is what I want to do with my life. I'm not chasing money either, as I'm already aware of the financial uncertainties that come with my current education. Now I'm looking for advice on how to break into the industry. Here are the options I'm considering:

1. Bootcamps: They're really expensive—are they worth it?
2. Going fully self-taught: This seems daunting, and I worry about not having formal credibility.
3. A coding academy: I found a few in Europe that offer 2-3 year programs with internships, but I've heard they're challenging.
4. Online university: Since I want to take responsibility for my education, this might be an option for a CS degree.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these options!

Honestly, if you're looking for credibility, I think going for the online university option might be your best bet. It gives you a structured path and a recognized degree, which can help you in the job market.

It's great that you've found your passion! Just keep in mind that while a degree can help, the most important thing is building real-world skills. Self-taught developers can do very well, but it's all about your dedication and the quality of your projects.

Yeah, not everyone takes the same path, just find what works for you. Good luck!
