Is $1449 a fair price for this used PC part list?

I'm considering buying a used PC for my wife as a holiday gift, but I'm unsure if $1449 is a good deal. I'm also weighing whether I should hunt for a bargain in my area or just go to a local store for guidance on a new PC under $1500. Here are the specs of the used PC I'm looking at:

- **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- **GPU**: MSI RTX 4070 Ti Ventus 3X 12GB
- **Motherboard**: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI (AM5)
- **RAM**: 32GB (2x16GB) G.Skill DDR5 6000MHz
- **Storage**: 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe Gen4 SSD
- **Cooling**: NZXT Kraken 240 AIO
- **Case**: NZXT H6 Flow (Black, with RGB fans)
- **OS**: Windows 11 Home (Activated)

What do you think?

I don't think it's worth it for used. For just an extra $100-150, you could get a new prebuilt with the same specs, like the 9070 XT. Way better value!

Which store are you referring to for that deal?

Honestly, I'd pass on that deal. You can find similar or even better builds at a local store like Microcenter for the same price, but brand new parts.

Check out these prebuilt options from Microcenter:

- [$1,599 for a 7800X3D + 9070XT](https://www.microcenter.com/product/698738/powerspec-g729-gaming-pc)
- [$1,299 for a 7700X + 5060ti 16GB](https://www.microcenter.com/product/694527/powerspec-g725-gaming-pc)
- [$999 for a sleeper 7500X3D + 9060XT 16GB](https://www.microcenter.com/product/698874/powerspec-g527-gaming-pc)

Just keep in mind, used parts may not come with transferable warranties like RAM, GPU, and PSU, and those can be problematic if they fail later.

That sleeper build sounds great! I was hoping to get something like that for my brother, but it's out of stock at my Microcenter.

You might want to check PCPartPicker to compare prices for these components. It helps to see how much everything is worth individually.

I've tried using it, but sometimes certain parts are missing or only Intel CPUs show up, which is frustrating.
