I recently upgraded from a 16GB Lenovo laptop to a 32GB Dell, hoping to see an improvement in performance. I'm really into multitasking, data analysis (using tools like Power BI, Excel, and Salesforce), and graphic design. However, I've noticed that the new laptop is actually lagging more than the old one, especially during video calls. I expected less lag with the upgrade, but it seems to be worse. What could be causing this?

32GB should be plenty. Have you considered that there might be an issue with the CPU or storage? If your new laptop doesn't have an SSD or if the CPU is weaker, that could definitely affect performance.
Make sure your RAM isn't slower than what you had before. Performance can also be impacted by how many sticks of RAM you have—you typically get better performance with dual-channel setups!
You might want to double-check that the RAM you installed is compatible. Did you match the speed, latency, and voltage? Sometimes, a BIOS update is necessary for new RAM to work properly.
Don’t forget to monitor your RAM usage! You can do this via Task Manager. It’ll help you see if you're actually reaching the limits of your new RAM.
RAM isn't everything! The 16GB you had was likely sufficient for your tasks. You need to check the other specs of your laptop too; they could be holding you back.
