I'm looking to build a new PC and want to buy a GPU before prices potentially go up again. I'm planning on keeping the card for at least 2-3 years. My main focus is 1440p gaming, but I'm also open to playing at 1080p if necessary. I'm set on getting an Nvidia card specifically because a game I enjoy has a known freezing issue on AMD cards that cannot be resolved.

The 4070 is perfect for 1440p gaming! I think $400 is a great price. Hope you get it soon!
$400 was actually the average price last month before Nvidia GPU prices for cards with over 8GB started to rise again. So, it’s still a decent price. It's even faster than the 5060 Ti 16GB, which is now going for $550, up from around $400 a few months back.
You should consider the card's age if it's used. The 4070 is still a good card overall, and $400 seems fair as long as it's in good condition with no issues.
$400 seems about right depending on the model and its condition. I'd be cautious about paying more unless it’s a Founders Edition in its original box, as those tend to hold their value better.
I own a 4070 and play modern games on a 3440x1440 display. I think $400 is a pretty solid deal! I originally paid $699 CAD at launch, which comes to about $500 USD, so it feels a bit disappointing that the price has only dropped by $100 over a few years. But for context, I'm currently playing RE9 and it's running super smoothly!
That’s a good price based on current GPU market trends! I recently bought a PNY dual fan 4070 for $380, so it sounds reasonable.
