Is 75°C a Normal Temperature for a 3070 GPU at Low Settings?

I've been a bit worried about my graphics card lately. It's a 3070 that's about three years old, and I've cleaned it thoroughly with an electric air compressor. I'm noticing it hits temperatures around 75°C even when I'm playing on low settings. Is this something I should be concerned about? What's a normal temperature range for this GPU?

You might want to stress test your GPU using something like 3DMark, especially the Steel Nomad benchmark. You should ideally see temps around 84 to 85°C under load, give or take. You could also try using MSI Afterburner to undervolt or overclock to manage your temps better!

Just remember, low graphics settings don’t automatically mean lower temperatures. If your CPU is still pushing enough power, you could still see those higher temps even on easier settings.

It's totally normal! Nvidia cards can handle up to 83°C without throttling, so you’re well within the safe zone. I wouldn’t worry too much unless it starts getting much higher consistently.

Gotcha! But is 76°C at low graphics in MW3 still okay?

How high is your GPU utilization? Temperature can vary widely based on how hard the GPU is working. If that 75°C is the max you’re seeing, then it’s actually pretty normal. Depending on the game, my GPU can hit around 110°C during intense moments, so just keep an eye on your usage too!

I checked and it’s around 75% utilization at most. In Rainbow Six, it’s 76°C, which seemed a bit high for low settings, right?

It might be time for a repaste! Some GPUs are using lower quality thermal paste, which doesn't last as long and can lead to those higher temps. Check it out to see if it needs a refresh!
