I'm looking to upgrade to a 9070 XT and I've seen that the manufacturer recommends a 750 watt power supply. However, there's an open box card available that's about 40 bucks cheaper, and it states it needs an 800 watt PSU. I currently own a 750 watt EVGA PSU. Can I go for the cheaper card, or should I stick with the recommended setup? For context, I have a 9700X processor, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2GB PCIe SSD. Just want to make sure my system can handle it!

You should be fine with a 750 watt PSU. I've been running a 3090 and a 5700X3D with my 750W power supply, no issues at all! It might be a bit overkill, but as long as your PSU is quality, I wouldn't worry too much.
Just grabbed the same card, and I've got a 5070Ti for work. Both run perfectly fine on 750 watts. Honestly, you only need that extra headroom if you're pushing your components to their limits for extended periods. For gaming, 750W should be plenty!
Funny enough, I checked the manufacturer’s site, and they only recommend 750 watts, while another site said 800. Glad to know you’re running fine with 750!
Definitely run your specs through a few PSU calculators just to be sure. If your current PSU is a good one, you might be okay with it. I have the 9070 XT running with a 650 watt PSU, and it has been stable for weeks now. But, I agree that 750W offers more comfort, especially if you push your system hard.
That makes sense! I've seen some calculators suggesting my system needs less than 700 watts, so maybe I won't need to upgrade after all.

Awesome to hear! Just reserved my open box card too; can’t wait to set it up!
