I'm currently watching YouTube, and my CPU usage is around 20%, but I'm seeing temperatures between 70°C and 75°C. I have an AMD 7800X3D processor paired with a Noctua NH-D15S cooler. Is this temperature normal for idle tasks, or should I be worried?

My 7800X3D usually sits around 40°C while idle. If yours is hitting the 70s, you should definitely consider reapplying thermal paste or checking the cooler mounting. It’s possible the cooler isn't seated correctly.
While AMD CPUs generally accept higher temperatures, idling above 70°C can be concerning. Make sure your thermal paste is fresh and the cooler is functioning properly. You might want to monitor your temps during gaming too, just to see if they go beyond normal limits.
That’s a good idea! It could help identify if the cooler works properly under load.
Exactly! I’ve had my CPU handle loads well but idle higher than expected, so it’s worth checking.
A temperature of 70°C while idle is on the higher side, especially for just browsing. Typically, you’d expect it to be between 30°C and 50°C under such light usage. It might be worth checking your cooler's installation and settings in the BIOS. Sometimes, a bad fan curve can cause the CPU to heat up more than it should at idle.
That sounds like a good point. I had similar issues before, and resetting the BIOS helped a lot.
I think there’s definitely something up with your setup if it’s idling that high.
70°C is definitely excessive for idle. You might want to stress-test it to see if the temperatures spike further under load. Also, check if any background apps are hogging CPU resources. A proper fan profile might be crucial here, too.
Yeah, I’ve seen that before. Sometimes it’s just one or two cores doing heavy lifting without you realizing it.

Yeah, I agree. It might be worth analyzing your case's airflow, too. Poor ventilation can lead to higher temperatures.
