Is a Hotspot Temp of 90° on an RX 5600 XT Too High?

I'm looking to buy a used ASUS RX 5600 XT and saw that the seller did a Furmark test every 5 minutes. The hotspot temperature reached 90°C during the test. I'm not very knowledgeable about GPUs, so I'm looking for your insights. Is this temperature normal? The seller mentioned that while gaming, the GPU temperature is around 78/79°C. Should I go ahead with the purchase?

It's pretty normal for GPUs to hit higher temps in stress tests like Furmark. If you notice the temps are cooler during actual gaming, that's a good sign for the GPU's performance in real-world scenarios.

The seller mentioned an average of 78/79°C while gaming, does that sound good to you?

90°C for a hotspot is not alarming. In fact, I have an Nvidia card that hits 108°C during benchmarks, and many folks say that's alright too. It sounds like normal behavior for high-performance GPUs.

If you decide to buy the GPU, you might consider replacing the thermal paste once you have it. It's possible the current paste is dried out, which could cause higher temps. A refresh could improve the temps overall!

Thanks for the tip!

A hotspot temp of 90°C during Furmark actually isn't too bad, especially since Furmark is a stress test that pushes the GPU hard. Most people say that the max limit for hotspot temps is around 110°C, so you're still in a safe range. Plus, the 78/79°C while gaming is pretty decent!

Is 79°C while gaming considered good?
