I'm looking to start coding and I want to learn GSC coding. ChatGPT suggested that I should first grasp the basics of Java. Does anyone think it's effective for learning programming fundamentals?

Honestly, learning programming should be a personal journey. Relying too much on things like AI can create a false sense of security. Many people may trust it for simple tasks at first, but as things get more complex, it often falls short. If you lean on tools like ChatGPT without putting in real effort, you'll find yourself in trouble later when it can't help you.
From what I've seen, ChatGPT might do a better job with Python. For Java, I think traditional methods are much more effective, especially for beginners.
As a Java expert, I've tried using ChatGPT to see how well it can help beginners. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it for learning Java from scratch. It offers some decent beginner examples, but the explanations tend to be vague, which isn’t very beneficial for someone who’s completely new to programming.
At the beginner level, I really suggest sticking to books focused on Java or seeking help from an expert. They provide structured knowledge which is crucial when starting out with a new language.
