Is DeepSeek Experiencing Server Issues?

I've recently started using DeepSeek, but I've been facing a recurring issue where I get a 'server busy' message after about 15 minutes of use. Is this normal for DeepSeek? Has anyone else experienced similar difficulties with its availability?

I think they might be going through some maintenance. I heard that DeepSeek is supposed to receive new Huawei chips soon, so this could be related to that change.

It might be related to the limitations of the free version. I've heard the paid API version offers better stability, but I haven't tried that myself.

I've been a supporter of DeepSeek since it launched, and I can tell you that there are definitely times, like these last few days, when it becomes nearly unusable. Some folks think this might be a sign that they're about to release R2, but that could just be wishful thinking. To manage, I've started using the DeepSeek API alongside Silly Tavern and switching to Qwen3 and Sonnet 3.7 when I need to get things done. It works pretty well!

That sounds like a solid plan! It's good to have alternatives when one service struggles.

If you're using it on desktop, you can try a Chrome extension that helps automatically retry connections with configurable pauses. It might make the experience smoother!

There's actually an extension called DeepSeek Server Busy that you can find on the Chrome Web Store to help with this!
