Is Defective DDR4 ECC Memory Worth Selling?

I have a bunch of 128GB DDR4 ECC memory modules that were pulled from servers that failed. Instead of letting them gather dust and eventually become e-waste, I'm curious if there's any real value in them that I could list on eBay.

It's likely most of this memory is disposable, but there could be niche collectors or repair shops looking for these parts. If you find the right buyer, you might be surprised at what you can get.

Exactly! Some of this stuff might appear worthless at first, but there's always someone who knows how to salvage parts from defective components.

Yes, definitely put it on eBay and be open to offers! I've sold dead RAM and SSDs before. There’s a whole underground market for recovering parts from these modules. It’s a bit wild, but people are interested!

Not really! Most of the time, defective RAM isn't worth much. But surprisingly, some people actually buy them to turn into keyrings. Check out this idea on Etsy - you can make some interesting keychains out of old memory modules!

You might want to put them up for auction on eBay for a week or so. You never know, collectors or repair shops might get into a bidding war over them! It’s worth a shot.

Yeah, plus I've heard that some folks can manage to resolder the chips from broken modules. If they can reassemble something usable, it could end up being a good sale.
