I'm currently running a setup with 8GB and 16GB DDR4 RAM in my PC. Due to some issues, I'm unable to upgrade right now, but I'm considering whether I should sell both sticks and switch to 2x8GB DDR5 RAM instead. What do you think—should I choose to upgrade to faster RAM or just stick with my existing 24GB of DDR4?

More RAM is usually better for stability and for multitasking, especially if you plan to do basic tasks like browsing and light video editing. I've never really noticed much difference in speed, but having enough RAM helps everything run smoothly.
DDR5 RAM won't fit into a DDR4 motherboard, so if you're thinking about switching, you'd need a new motherboard too. Just a heads up!
I can get a DDR5 motherboard for free, so that's not an issue! Just weighing my options.
RAM speed doesn't have a huge impact on gaming performance unless you're using really outdated RAM. Your current setup of 24GB DDR4 is more than enough for almost all games. Just ensure your RAM sticks are matched for better performance.
That clears things up a lot! Thanks for the advice!
In most cases, having 16GB of faster RAM will be better, especially since it can improve CPU performance. But if you're considering the full 24GB of your current setup, it depends on what you use it for.
So you're suggesting I should go for the 2x8GB DDR5 instead of staying with my current 24GB DDR4?

I mostly open a few tabs and might run a game or a program, so I like to keep it light.
