Is it normal for Assassin’s Creed 1 to heat up my PC components?

I recently started playing Assassin's Creed 1, and I noticed my GPU temperatures spiking to 70°C and my CPU reaching the 60s. I mean, this game is over a decade old! My setup isn't bad at all, sporting an RX 6800 GPU and a Ryzen 5 CPU. Is something wrong with my PC?

It's pretty common for older games to push newer hardware, especially if you haven't capped the FPS. If your FPS is running wild, it could max out your GPU, causing those temps to rise. Just set a frame limit or turn on VSync to help manage that heat better.

After I limited the FPS, my GPU temp dropped to around 65, occasionally hitting 70, so that definitely helped!

Your temperatures are within a normal range for gaming. Limiting the FPS and enabling VSync can make a big difference. If you've done that and still feel worried, checking your cooling system might also be a good idea. But overall, sounds like your PC is handling it well!

Yeah, once I turned on VSync, my GPU temp also went down to around 65, which is a relief.
