Is It Normal to Only Plug in Two PSU Cords to My Motherboard?

I'm building my first PC using an ASRock B760M Pro RS Wifi motherboard paired with a Corsair 850e PSU. I've successfully connected the CPU power cord and the main 24-pin ATX power cord, but I noticed there are several other cords that came with the PSU. I'm unsure where they should go. Does my motherboard not require them, or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're on the right track! Most standard motherboards, including yours, require just those two connections. If you plan on adding a graphics card in the future, keep in mind that they usually need an additional PSU connection as well.

Yes, it's completely normal to only have two PSU connections plugged into your motherboard. Those connectors you've hooked up (the CPU cord and the 24-pin one) are typically all you need for basic functionality. The other cables are meant for components like graphics cards, SSDs, and HDDs, so don't worry about the extra ones just yet.

That sounds normal! The extra cords from your PSU are for connecting things like GPUs and storage drives. Just focus on the CPU and main ATX connection for now. You’ll plug in the others when you add more components.

Got it! I totally forgot that the GPU needs power too. Thanks a lot for clarifying!
