Is it Okay to Mix RAM Brands and Speeds?

Hey everyone! I'm currently running a setup with 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600 - CL18 RAM, and I'm thinking about adding 16GB more. My question is whether I should stick with the exact same RAM to keep it simple, or is it possible to mix in a different brand or speed? I'm considering buying used parts to match what I have, but I'm curious about the compatibility and performance implications.

Honestly, mixing different RAM can be tricky. You can get it to work, but you might have to manually adjust the timings, which can be frustrating. If you can find the same Corsair setup, that would be way easier. But if you decide to mix, just make sure the voltages match; most likely they're around 1.35V. Speed differences can be adjusted in the BIOS, but you'll need to run everything at the slower timing, which could impact performance a bit.

Thanks for the insights! I’ll keep an eye out for a matching pair, especially since RAM prices can be so wild right now.
