Is it okay to mount my PSU fan down if it’s sitting on the floor?

I'm curious if I should install my power supply (PSU) upside down so the fan can pull air in from the bottom of my case. I'm using a LIAN LI 207 LANCOOL, which has a dust filter. However, since I'm putting my PC on the floor (there's just no room on my desk), I'm wondering if this setup would work well. If not, the case does have some vents above the PSU that could allow for airflow, but that would block part of the fan. Any advice?

Honestly, it's not ideal to keep your PC on the floor. If you must, yes, having the PSU fan facing down should work, but a desk setup would be better. If your desk is too short or cramped, you might want to consider getting a larger one soon. It's worth it for the extra space!

The desk situation is tricky since it's kind of short and my monitor takes up most of the space. I might look into getting a bigger desk soon. Appreciate the feedback!

I used to have my PSU fan facing down, and it worked out just fine for me! Just monitor it to ensure it doesn't get too dusty.

As long as the bottom of your case isn't solid (like a metal base), you should be fine with the fan facing down. Just make sure to clean it regularly, especially since it's on the floor where dust can gather.

The case has a grid with a dust filter, so if I keep it clean under there, it should be okay. Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend installing the PSU with the fan partially blocked. That's not great for cooling. You could lift the case off the floor a bit (maybe put some books under it) for better airflow instead!

That's a smart idea! I'll find something to elevate it once I start building. Thanks!
