Hey everyone! I've been hearing mixed opinions about using Nvidia graphics cards with Linux. Some folks say it's a bad idea, but I want to know if it's really possible or if it's just overblown hype. Can anyone share their experiences using Nvidia cards on Linux? Is it generally smooth sailing or should I expect issues? Thanks for your help!

I made the switch to Linux Mint from Windows on my laptop with an Nvidia card and it works great! Just make sure to update the driver when you install it.

Using modern distributions like Fedora or Arch is key. Nvidia support has improved a lot lately. But if you're on older distros like Debian, you might run into problems since they lag behind.

For Arch users, I highly recommend CachyOS. It has solid defaults and an easy one-click setup for game-related tools and Nvidia drivers. Everything just works with driver version 575.64!
