I'm considering transferring my laptop's SSD to my desktop PC. Can I just install it on the motherboard and expect it to work, or do I need to manage data transfer to a different drive first? What should I keep in mind?

As long as the SSD fits properly in the slot, you should be fine! I’ve successfully transferred SSDs from laptops to desktops before.
You'll need to check if the desktop can recognize the drive in the BIOS. Set it as the primary boot drive. If both machines are using the same CPU type (like Intel or AMD), it should boot up without a hitch. Just remember that after booting, you might need to install drivers for it to run smoothly.

My laptop has an Intel chip, but my PC is AMD. Will that be an issue?
