Is it safe for me to install a graphics card by myself?

I'm planning to buy a new graphics card for my birthday. I've done some basic PC stuff like reapplying thermal paste and swapping out RAM sticks, but I'm wondering if it's risky to install the GPU myself. I'm concerned about accidentally connecting the wrong cables and damaging my motherboard. Should I just hire a technician, or do you think I can handle it on my own?

And hey, if you're super nervous, bring a buddy along! They can help you out or just be there for moral support.

It's similar to installing RAM, only you'll need to screw the GPU into the case and plug in the power cables. Just remember to turn off your power supply before starting, and you should be fine!

If your current setup has an integrated graphics card, it's pretty straightforward! Just unplug the old card if you have one, connect a couple of cables, and plug in the new GPU. You've got this.

Actually, I don't have any dedicated graphics right now; it's an upgrade.

Installing a GPU is a basic skill for PC building. You can definitely do it yourself! Just check out some tutorials on YouTube; they walk you through it step by step.

Thanks for the reassurance! I got a little freaked out after watching a video of a GPU catching fire.
