Is it safe to grant permissions to an APK I downloaded?

Hey folks, I recently downloaded an APK for a lesser-known Assassin's Creed mobile game called Arno's Chronicles. However, when I try to open the game, it requests some unusual permissions to access my files, including photos and videos. Of course, I hit "deny," but then it tells me it won't work unless I allow these permissions. Should I go ahead and grant those permissions? Also, if anyone knows of any other APK sources, I'd appreciate that too!

First off, always be cautious when downloading APKs, especially if they're from less-known sites. It's important to download from reputable sources to avoid malware. As for the permissions, if the app claims it needs access to your files but doesn't seem relevant to its function, that's a red flag. I'd recommend looking into reviews or feedback from other users about this APK. You might want to deny those permissions unless you're certain it’s safe.

I hear you—those permission requests can be a bit alarming. Since you mentioned you downloaded from Apkvision and it's your first time there, it’s good to double-check that site’s credibility. As for permissions, if you don’t feel comfortable granting them, definitely don’t! Instead, consider looking for alternatives on more trusted platforms, or even check if there’s an official app available.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll definitely watch out for alternatives and stick to familiar sites from now on.
