I'm building my first gaming PC and have settled on a 7800X3D CPU. However, I'm considering using an ASRock motherboard and I'm wondering about its reliability. Are there still issues with ASRock and the 9800X3D, and will I need to replace the motherboard if I decide to upgrade my CPU in the future?

There's really no reason to take that gamble. If the difference in cost isn't huge, I’d advise going with a more reputable brand to save yourself potential headaches.
I had a rough experience with ASRock recently; they actually fried my 7800X3D. I’d suggest looking elsewhere, especially if you can find comparable options for not much more.
If the ASRock board is significantly cheaper, it might be okay now considering their updates, but if you’re only saving about $20, I’d say just go with a more reliable brand.
People are still talking about how iffy ASRock's boards are. While there seem to be fewer reported issues nowadays, I’d rather not take chances when there are safer alternatives out there.
Honestly, I wouldn't risk it with ASRock. Their reputation has taken a hit, and while they did release some BIOS updates, I still feel uneasy about trusting them. Brands like TUF and MSI have a better track record in my experience.
