Is it Safe to Use the Adapter for My 3060 Ti Founders Edition?

I recently got my hands on a 3060 Ti Founders Edition and I'm really excited to give it a shot! I plan to test it out in my current setup, which has an MSI A650BN power supply. Currently, I'm running a GTX 1070 Ti without any problems. However, I'm a little hesitant about plugging in the 3060 Ti because my PSU doesn't come with a native 12-pin connector. The card did come with a 6+2 pin to 12-pin adapter, but I've heard that these can be risky and might overheat or even melt. So, I'm curious—would it be safe to use this adapter just for testing? Or should I hold off until I can upgrade my power supply or build a system that's better suited for the GPU?

Honestly, the 3060 Ti is a relatively low wattage card, so using that 6+2 to 12-pin adapter should be okay for testing purposes. Just keep an eye on temperatures initially, and you should be good!

I'm still nervous about it. Google mentions it can pull a maximum of 200W, but the 6+2 connector only provides 150W. Think it's still safe to plug it in?
