Hey folks! I upgraded most of my setup last year, but I've been holding off on upgrading my GPU. Right now, I've got a 2070 Super paired with an i5-14600KF and I play at 1440p on a 165Hz monitor. I've been feeling like the 2070 Super is starting to limit my performance, especially for competitive shooters. I've been eyeing the 5070, which is priced at $550. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and upgrade to it now that it's available at MSRP and has 12GB of VRAM, or if I should wait longer for something like the 9070 or 9070xt with 16GB of VRAM. What do you all think?

If you're leaning towards the 5070ti, keep an eye on where BestBuy stocks the PNY version at MSRP. Great discounts were happening recently!
Honestly, you should aim for at least 16GB of VRAM. Games are getting more demanding, and having the extra VRAM could really help out in the long run.
The timing for buying GPUs is always tough! That said, the 5070 should provide a solid upgrade from your 2070. Just keep an eye on the prices because they can fluctuate. Hope you score a good deal!
Yeah, it’s a tricky market. I've seen the prices dip slightly, so maybe waiting isn't so bad after all.
Your 2070 Super is getting on in years. If you're planning to stick with a new GPU for about six years, it might be smarter to wait for a card that has 16GB of VRAM. 12GB could be fine for now, but in a few years, it might become a limitation. Just my two cents!
So you think the 5070 is a no-go for long-term? I'm curious, what's going to happen with the 12GB as games evolve?
Yeah, I feel like holding out for something with more VRAM is safer.
I disagree. I think 12GB is enough for now, especially if you're gaming at 1440p.
