I've been gaming on a 1080p 144Hz monitor for the last 2-3 years with my setup: 16GB of 3600MHz RAM, an RTX 3060 Ti, and a Ryzen 5 5600X. Recently, I found a fantastic deal on a 1440p 240Hz monitor and I'm wondering if my specs can handle the upgrade. Specifically, will my GPU and CPU manage 1440p gaming smoothly? Also, I'm curious if the 240Hz refresh rate is beneficial if the monitor supports FreeSync or G-Sync. I mainly play World of Warcraft (retail), Destiny 2, and occasionally Dota 2.

Yeah, you should be fine with your setup. If you turn off ray tracing and enable DLSS, your FPS should be decent—just keep in mind that some games, like CS 2, might struggle to hit 200 FPS even at lower settings.
Go for the monitor upgrade! It’s definitely worth it, and having a second monitor is a game-changer. You might also want to consider upgrading to an x3D CPU for even better performance.
I still use a 1080p 60Hz monitor and it works just fine for me. I’d say unless you really need the upgrade, why spend more when you’re already satisfied?
I gotta disagree! The 1440p 120Hz experience is incredible. It may take a few hours to get used to it, but once you do, you won’t want to game on anything else!
Honestly, I think investing in an upgrade to something like a 5700X3D could be a better choice for your performance, especially if you’re playing retail WoW a lot. You’ll see a bigger impact with CPU upgrades than just switching your monitor.
Upgrading to 1440p is a huge difference! I switched from 1080p and I can’t go back. If you can get used to the higher resolution, you’ll notice the details in your games a lot more.

Just a heads up, DLSS can be VRAM intensive. Some titles may not perform well even with those settings, so keep an eye on how it runs in your favorite games.
