Hey everyone! I've been running into issues trying to enroll iOS 15 devices into MDM. After activating the iPad, I keep getting a "Failed to retrieve configuration" error. I reached out to both Jamf and Meraki, and they mentioned that this appears to be an issue on Apple's side. With the school year approaching, I'm pretty anxious about this. I haven't found any official information addressing this problem, so I'm hoping someone might have some insights on what's going on with Apple and when we can expect a fix. I've heard that Meraki first noticed this issue around 7/21/25, so it's been quite a while now.

I had a similar issue a while back! I unassigned the device from Intune in Apple Business Manager and just waited it out. Thankfully, it didn’t take a whole month for me to get it resolved.
Which MDM are you trying to enroll with? I work in an environment with Omnissa Workspace One, and in the last month, I saw 104 enrollments in total, but none were on iOS 15. Interestingly, I did see one device enroll recently on iOS 14.2.0, so I thought iOS 15 might work too. I'm not sure how that helps you, but just a heads up!
According to Meraki support, apparently all devices on iOS 16 are facing similar issues too, so it seems widespread.

Just to clarify, it's best to confirm that everything is configured correctly with Apple, Meraki, and Jamf support. Apple doesn't deal directly with MDM enrollment issues, so they won't have much info. My MDMs have confirmed that they believe this is an issue on Apple's end, and they have tickets open.
