Hey everyone, I'm using a Pure Rock 2 cooler and when gaming, like playing Phasmophobia, my CPU temperature hits around 80°C, and it jumps to 90°C when I'm playing Apex. I know it's not exceeding the 95°C limit, but it feels a bit too close for comfort. I've seen others mentioning they're getting around 70°C in games. What do you guys think? Is this normal? Thanks!

Modern CPUs can push their limits to get close to thermal thresholds, so as long as you’re under 95°C, you have some headroom. Just keep an eye on it! CPU-bound games can run hotter, especially if you’re on low graphics settings.
What GPU do you have in this setup? That cooler looks a bit small, and I wouldn't expect it to reach those high temps. Also, how’s your airflow in the case?
Make sure your case airflow is decent! The Pure Rock 2 should handle that CPU well enough, but good airflow is key to lower temps.
I have a Meshify C case, so airflow should be alright!
A peak of 90°C for your CPU package is technically okay, but if one or more cores are hitting that peak, it might not be ideal. If you're boosting well, that's a good sign, though!
I’ve seen around 5.2-5.3GHz in Phasmophobia at about 80°C. Seems reasonable!
You might consider upgrading your cooler for better thermal performance. The Thermalright Phantom Spirit is affordable and does really well compared to more expensive models. Also, undervolting with the Curve Optimizer could help keep temps down while maintaining performance.

I’m running an RX 6800, and I’m not really experiencing any big FPS drops, so it seems manageable.
