Is My AMD Ryzen 5 7600X Overheating?

Hey everyone, I just built a new PC and installed a liquid cooler. However, I'm concerned about temperatures I'm seeing. On the desktop, my CPU is running at 60-65°C, and when I game, it goes up to 70-80°C. I know gaming temps are generally acceptable, but the desktop temp seems off to me. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Thermaltake LA360-S Liquid Cooler, Gigabyte B650M S2H motherboard, Gigabyte RTX 5070 Windforce OC graphics card, and a 750W power supply.

Honestly, it's pretty normal for Ryzen 5 processors. Don't stress too much unless you're experiencing stability issues. Just make sure your case has good airflow!

When I watched some YouTube videos, they were getting temps around 45-50°C with their 9950X, which is more powerful than mine. It feels like something isn’t right.

I checked the temps in the BIOS, and it reports 32-35°C, so it seems like the problem lies when using the desktop. Maybe it’s a software issue that’s causing high usage?

Could it be that it's using 67.3W while idle? Shouldn't that be lower?

That seems a bit high for idle temps. A 360 AIO should keep your 7600X cooler than that. I recommend removing the cooler, cleaning off the thermal paste, applying a fresh layer, and reseating it. It might make a significant difference!

I'll give that a shot when my new thermal paste arrives. I used what came with the cooler, but I think it might be too cheap and could cause an increase of 5-6 degrees.

Check if the cooler is properly mounted and that you’ve removed any plastic protective covers from the cooler. If that doesn't help, consider returning the cooler if it’s still under warranty.

I did remove all the plastic from the start, so I'm a bit puzzled.
