I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card from a 4070 to a 5080 mostly for gaming. I currently have an Intel i7 13700F. Will this CPU pair well with the new graphics card, or should I consider upgrading the CPU as well? Thanks!

It really depends on the games you play, the resolution, and your graphics settings. In most cases, your setup should be just fine.
If you're mainly into esports, you might be losing some frames. But for most AAA games, your current CPU will likely perform within 5-10% of the top options out there.
I don't have extensive experience with Intel CPUs, but I think your 13th gen should keep pace with the 5080 without issues.
Honestly, your i7 13700F should work great with the 5080 unless you're focused on esports gaming. Even then, do you really need more than 240 FPS? Skill and internet connection matter more once you're past 120 FPS. Also, if you're looking for value, consider the 5070 Ti or 9070 XT over the 5080 since it might not be worth the price tag for most gamers.

Actually, in esports, frames are crucial because everyone's at the highest skill level. More frames can definitely give you an edge.
