Which NVMe Drive Should I Choose for Dual Booting Linux and Windows?

I'm in the middle of migrating to Linux (Endeavour OS), but I still need Windows for some games and software that aren't available on Linux. I have two NVMe drives: the Crucial P5 1TB and the WD Blue SN570 1TB. Given that I intend to primarily use Linux, should I install it on the faster Crucial drive and put Windows on the WD Blue, or is the WD Blue good enough for Linux? What would be the best setup?

Make sure to check your motherboard’s PCIe slots because your SSD's speed depends on that. Your faster NVMe drive should be plugged into the best PCIe slot for maximum performance. Ultimately, it comes down to your usage—if you're doing heavy read/write operations, install that OS on the faster drive. But if you're not constantly transferring large files, either should work just fine without you noticing much of a difference.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

I’d suggest putting the less data-intensive OS on the slower drive. If you’re not a content creator needing tons of bandwidth, the WD Blue should handle Linux well enough. You can definitely install Linux on the slightly slower drive without any issues.

That's a good point! I'm also thinking of doing a clean install of Windows since mine's gotten cluttered. Backing up files now—it's always better to know more before making changes. I've really enjoyed customizing Linux on my laptop over the past few weeks. It's a breath of fresh air compared to Windows!
