Hey everyone! My PC crashed this morning, and I think it might be the motherboard or CPU since it's around 6 years old. I'm currently using a GeForce 1080. I'm looking to build a new PC for watching movies, doing Photoshop, and playing games like Warzone and World of Warcraft, nothing too extreme. I'm wondering if the parts I'm considering are overkill. Here's what I'm looking at:
- Power Supply: MSI MPG A850G
- Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B650
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9700X (8-core)
- GPU: XFX Swift AMD 9070 OC
- CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken 240 RGB
- Memory: Crucial Pro 32GB DDR5
The total for these parts comes to about $1700. I'm planning to reuse my 2TB SSDs and PC case. I'd love to find a cheaper GPU and maybe consider a less expensive cooler too. My goal is to make sure this PC lasts me over the next 5+ years. Thanks for any advice!

I'd suggest swapping the Kraken for an air cooler, like the Phantom Spirit. It’ll save you some cash, and if you find good prices on the other components, your build looks solid. Just remember that future-proofing is tricky since tech evolves constantly. Aiming for 5+ years can depend heavily on how you use your PC and your expectations.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check out air coolers. By the way, the AMD Swift 9070 is around $750 on Amazon. Do you know of any GPUs closer to $400-550 that still perform well?
