Is My Power Supply Enough for My New CPU Upgrade?

I recently upgraded my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800X without considering whether my power supply would handle it. My setup includes an EVGA G3 650W gold PSU, a 2060 Super (8GB), some DDR4 3200 RAM, a Gigabyte Ultra Durable motherboard, one NVMe SSD, one regular SSD, one HDD, and three case fans. My previous CPU was a Ryzen 5 3600. Should I be safe to power this all on?

For future upgrades, it's super handy to use a site like PC Part Picker. It helps you check the compatibility of components and can warn you about power supply requirements!

Based on the specs, you're totally good! The GPU uses about 175W, the CPU is around 145W, and the motherboard maxes out at around 60W. All that power combined is still well within the limits of your 650W PSU, so you should be safe to start it up!

Yep, that's talking about max usage, so you’re definitely in the safe zone!
