Is Outlook search failing intermittently in Exchange Online?

Are other organizations seeing intermittent search failures in both Outlook on the web and the desktop Outlook client? Several users are reporting that searches return no results or fail altogether. The issue seems more common among UK-based users, and it appears similar to an incident reported last week. Has anyone found a current service advisory or workaround?

Weโ€™re seeing the same problem in the UK. Itโ€™s affecting multiple users, but not consistently, so searches may work one moment and fail the next.

Only a small number of users are affected here, but itโ€™s understandably frustrating. Since it happens in both the web and desktop clients, it looks more like a service-side issue than a local Outlook problem.

MellowBirch42: That matches what weโ€™re seeing. Weโ€™ll keep monitoring it and compare results between the web and desktop clients.

It would be worth opening a support case through the administration portal and reporting the number of affected users. If enough organizations report it, support may update or reopen the service advisory.

Several of our customers are reporting failed Outlook searches as well. The service provider previously marked a related advisory as resolved, but reports are still coming in daily.
